About The Position

The Anesthesiologist position at Scottish Rite for Children involves providing anesthesia coverage at both Dallas and Frisco campuses. The role includes the medical management of patients during surgical and therapeutic procedures, ensuring adherence to established guidelines. The anesthesiologist will also be responsible for teaching anesthesiology residents, participating in quality evaluation programs, and engaging in significant research efforts relevant to the institution.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Texas.
• Accredited by the American Board of Anesthesiology or foreign equivalency.
• Completion of a pediatric anesthesia fellowship.
• BLS and PALS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia coverage at both Dallas and Frisco campuses.
• Manage patients who are unconscious or insensible to pain during surgical and therapeutic procedures.
• Ensure compliance with the American Society of Anesthesiologists' guidelines for anesthetic procedures.
• Teach and instruct anesthesiology residents, particularly in pediatric anesthesia.
• Participate in quality evaluation programs to assess patient care.
• Serve on assigned committees and task forces.
• Engage in significant research efforts relevant to Scottish Rite for Children.
• Supervise Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs).
