As an Anesthesiologist Assistant (AA) at Cleveland Clinic, you will work alongside a collaborative team of anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and other professionals to deliver exceptional care across a wide range of high acuity surgical specialties. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as an Anesthesiologist Assistant in a hospital inpatient environment, preferably involving high-acuity cases, is strongly preferred.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an institution of higher learning accredited by an organization recognized by the board of regents.
  • Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants.
  • Current, valid certificate of registration.
  • Written practice protocol consistent with section 4760.09 of the Revised Code.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) are required.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience as an Anesthesiologist Assistant in a hospital inpatient environment, preferably involving high-acuity cases.

Responsibilities

  • Obtains a comprehensive patient history and performs relevant elements of a physical exam.
  • Discusses findings and anesthetic plan with supervising anesthesiologist before induction of anesthesia.
  • Reviews the patient's condition with the anesthesiologist immediately prior to the induction of anesthesia.
  • Pretests and calibrates anesthesia delivery systems.
  • Administers blood, blood products and supportive fluids.
  • Other duties as assigned.
