About The Position

An Anesthesia Technologist I performs all the duties of the Anesthesia Technician. This role is responsible for supporting anesthesia care through the preparation and maintenance of equipment, assistance with patient monitoring, and adherence to safety protocols. It requires a foundational understanding of anesthesia procedures, equipment, and medications, and includes documenting clinical information, preparing emergency airway equipment, and supporting invasive line setup. The Technologist I also participates in quality assurance, training of new staff, and ongoing professional development activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• One (1) year of related healthcare experience as an Anesthesia Technician
• Basic Life Support certification (BLS) within 90 days of hire
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Troubleshooting skills to logically and systematically search for the source of a problem
• Knowledge of infection control methods and techniques
• Capability to use medical terminology accurately
• Ability to monitor a patient's vital signs and physiological parameters
• Capability to perform sterile techniques and procedures

Responsibilities

• Prepares and sets up equipment for various procedures
• Assists the anesthesia provider in monitoring the vital signs of patients
• Ensures the safe and efficient administration of anesthesia care
• Accurately documents patient information and procedures while adhering to all safety protocols and standards
• Prepares invasive line pressure transducers for use during anesthetizing procedures
• Sets up, calibrates, prepares, and maintains the anesthesia equipment utilized during procedures
• Prepares emergency airway equipment
• Participates in in-services, seminars, or other relevant educational programs
• Assists in the training of new employees
• Adheres to principles of sterile technique and other infection control policies and standards
