About The Position

The Anesthesia Technician is an integral member of the anesthesia patient care team who works under the Department of Anesthesiology to assist the anesthesia providers in various settings by providing support for routine surgical cases, by assisting in the preparation and maintenance of patient equipment and anesthesia delivery systems before, during and after anesthesia. The Anesthesia Technician reports to the Sr Director, Surgical Services and the Director of Anesthesiology.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a hospital operating room preparing and maintaining anesthesia equipment and supplies, required.
• High school diploma or equivalent, required.
• Ability to communicate in English (oral and written).

Responsibilities

• Assist the anesthesiologist/CRNA/Resident/as requested, as long as it is within the scope of practice. May be clinical.
• Assist with anesthesia case set up.
• Clean and restock OR carts.
• Perform simple maintenance on anesthesia equipment.
• Maintain knowledge of equipment, cleaning, storage, uses.
• Ensure anesthesia equipment and supplies are present and up to date.
• Other responsibilities as directed by anesthesia providers. May include clinical duties.
