About The Position

The primary role of the Anesthesia Technician is to assist the Anesthesiologist as well as the CRNA. Works under direct supervision of licensed anesthesia provider and/or Registered Nurse (RN). Indirect supervision by Director of Surgical Services or designee. The Anesthesia Technician is a trained individual that has knowledge of the supplies, medications and equipment needed to provide anesthesia to surgical patients. This individual proactively ensures maintaining proper stock levels of anesthesia supplies, ensure cards are stocked for immediate use for operative procedures, cleaning and storage of equipment (before, during and after anesthesia),, & troubleshooting and ensuring equipment operation and maintenance. Scope of service may include: Support anesthesiologists, CRNA's, nurses and other members of OR team. Clean, sterilize, test, calibrate and troubleshoot anesthesia equipment, as well as keeping records of equipment inspections. Demonstrates Clinical and service excellence behaviors in daily interactions with patients, families, co-workers and physicians

Requirements

  • High School diploma, required.
  • One year of healthcare experience
  • Basic understanding of anesthesia equipment
  • Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position
  • Valid driver's license when driving for work related reasons
  • BLS

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of Associate Degree Program, preferred
  • One year of operating room experience is preferred
  • Certification from the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians, preferred
