About The Position

The Anesthesia Technician works under the supervision of a physician to provide analysis and verbal reporting of pertinent Swan-Ganz catheterization data during insertion, calibration, and post transfer hook up. This individual prepares and hooks up invasive physiologic monitoring and recording equipment. The Anesthesia Technician prepares and maintains anesthesia circuits, machines, and monitoring equipment and inserts venous cannulae utilizing adequate protocol to assure optimum results. This individual will provide post puncture sheath removal hemostasis and adequate extremity perfusion. The Anesthesia Technician works in accordance with Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS) policies, procedures, and protocols, and is expected to consistently demonstrate customer/patient focus, effective communication, professionalism and self-development, and teamwork. Requirements

• Post-high school education, or completion of technical program in health care field within 6 months of hire.
• Basic computer skills.
• One year of technical experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Associate science degree or formal health care education.
• Phlebotomy or IV starts experience.
• Basic EMT certification preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
