About The Position

An anesthesia technician is responsible for assisting the Anesthesiologist before, during, and after surgical procedures. Other responsibilities include handling delicate anesthesia equipment; ensuring correct supplies and equipment are prepared in case of an emergency; stocking the rooms; transport of patients, medical records, and lab specimens, and cleaning of surgical area following a case. This person must use appropriate judgment in selecting supplies for each case based on Size of patient and the type of anesthesia being given. Direct supervision is provided by the Anesthesiologist and RN. The anesthesia tech is accountable to the OR Manager and operates within the framework of Driscoll Children's Hospital Mission statement and Core Values. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • BLS required upon hire
