About The Position

The Anesthesia Technician at Sanford Health coordinates and provides essential anesthesia supplies, medications, and equipment for medical procedures, both before and during surgery. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtained within 60 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

One year experience in a health care environment preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology helpful.
Strong computer skills helpful.

Responsibilities

Stock anesthesia supplies and clean equipment.
Coordinate and provide anesthesia supplies, medications and equipment effectively, before and during medical procedures.
Provide a safe, efficient environment for the surgical patient.
Demonstrate accordance with ethical and legal responsibilities.
Respond in an emergency and within their scope, with careful and thoughtful responses to a wide variety of requests in a stressed and rushed situation by providing anesthesia supplies and equipment as needed.
Assist in the preparation of equipment.
Assist with medications when applicable.
Assist with orders, stocking inventory, tests and maintaining anesthesia equipment.
Clean and disinfect reusable equipment.
Report malfunctioning equipment to appropriate personnel.
Remove all special and reusable material after cases.
Be responsible for the turnaround of the room in accordance with infection control policies and procedures.
Maintain clean working environment, surgical rooms.
Assist in clerical duties as needed within the unit, including incoming phone calls.
