WORK SHIFT Rotating shifts starting at 0500, 0600 and 1000 JOB SUMMARY The Anesthesia Technician works under the supervision of a physician to provide analysis and verbal reporting of pertinent Swan-Ganz catheterization data during insertion, calibration, and post transfer hook up. This individual prepares and hooks up invasive physiologic monitoring and recording equipment. The Anesthesia Technician prepares and maintains anesthesia circuits, machines, and monitoring equipment and inserts venous cannulae utilizing adequate protocol to assure optimum results. This individual will provide post puncture sheath removal hemostasis and adequate extremity perfusion. The Anesthesia Technician works in accordance with Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS) policies, procedures, and protocols, and is expected to consistently demonstrate customer/patient focus, effective communication, professionalism and self-development, and teamwork. JOB QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation. Minimum Required: Post-high school education, or completion of technical program in health care field within 6 months of hire. Preferred/Optional: Associate science degree or formal health care education. EXPERIENCE Minimum Required: Basic computer skills. One year of technical experience. Preferred/Optional: Phlebotomy or IV starts experience. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position. Minimum Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire. Preferred/Optional: Basic EMT certification preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire. Requirements
