About The Position

Under the direction of the Operating Room Charge Nurse performs those tasks directly related to preparing and maintaining anesthesia supplies and the equipment for surgical cases. Assists Anesthesiologist with patient care during procedures. Locations Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley What you will do At the start of shift, responsible for reviewing the daily maintenance of anesthesia supplies and equipment to ensure proper working condition Support Anesthesiologists when requested in Cath Lab, Labor & Delivery, and ER. Ensure anesthesia supplies and equipment are available and in working order in labor and delivery. Evening Tech will support evening crew as well as restock anesthesia carts and prepare OR suites for next day. Responsible for setting up, cleaning and turnover of anesthia machines and cart to prepare for next procedure. Also responsible for recordkeeping in relation to work completed. Works with Materials Manager and medical supply to insure ordering of all anesthesia supplies and equipment. Employee must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the C-I-CARE Standards of the Hospital. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Less than 6 mos operating room experience Required
  • Good communication skills with the ability to read, write and understand the English language
  • Ability to work as a valued team member
  • Problem identification and resolution skills
  • Effective organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledgeable about current practice and compliance requirements within job role and specialty.
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology
  • Basic knowledge of surgical settings/environment
  • Current American Heart Association Certification for Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers required

Nice To Haves

  • Anesthia Technician certification Preferred
