About The Position

UofL Health - University of Louisville Hospital, an academic teaching and research hospital, is at the heart of the Louisville Metro area in downtown Louisville. University Hospital has a world-renowned trauma team and a uniquely streamlined, nationally accredited stroke center, showcasing the latest innovations in a history of world-class care. University Hospital is the only adult Level I Trauma Center in the region, admitting more than 3,000 patients each year, including 1,500 patients a year who live outside Jefferson County and its surrounding counties. This makes it a resource not only for Louisville residents but also for people throughout Kentuckiana. Included within the trauma care provided at University Hospital is the only dedicated Burn Center in Kentucky.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Broad knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacology.
  • Knowledge of sterilization techniques.

Nice To Haves

  • One year's experience in a hospital setting (operating room preferred).
  • Graduate of an anesthesia technician program.
  • Anesthesia tech or EMT experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the anesthesia resident, Certified Nurse Anesthetist, and anesthesia physician to maintain proper anesthesia supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure the functioning of anesthesia equipment and troubleshoot as necessary.
  • Assist with the turnover of operating rooms.
  • Work collaboratively with residents, physicians, nurses, and materials management to provide proper and cost-effective supplies and equipment.
