About The Position

Job Summary: The Anesthesia Technician I-IV supports anesthesia services for JPS Health Network. Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities: Assist with patient care in a way that minimizes the risk of transfer of infection, biological hazards, and accidental contamination and protects the patient from harm. Demonstrates knowledge of the purpose, use, and care of physiological monitors relating to the administration of anesthesia. Coordinates medication and equipment throughout anesthesia operations. Assists in monitoring adequate availability and stocking of supplies and equipment according to the established PAR level. Performs clerical functions as required and collects data for unit-specific process improvement as needed. Performs point-of-care testing in accordance with hospital policy. Demonstrates proper handling of bulk and cylinder gases. Job description is not an all-inclusive list of duties and may be subject to change with or without notice. Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Current JPS recognized Basic life support (BCLS) certification and must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Must complete unit orientation competencies within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in a healthcare-related field from an accredited university.
