About The Position

The Operating Room at Baystate Medical Center is a high-acuity, fast-paced surgical environment within the region's only Level 1 Trauma Center. Our OR supports a full range of specialties-including cardiac, neurosurgery, orthopedics, trauma, oncology, robotics, and complex transplant procedures-and is staffed by a collaborative team of surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and technicians. Summary The Anesthesia Technician, under the general supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) and/or physician, performs a variety of routine direct and indirect patient care activities and technical tasks in the anesthesia setting. This role supports anesthesia services across multiple procedural areas and is responsible for equipment preparation, maintenance, and troubleshooting within established departmental policies. This description reflects the essential functions of the role; additional similar or related duties may be assigned upon demonstrated competency.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated competency in reading and mathematics, verified by aptitude testing
  • GED or HiSET (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months to 1 year experience in a hospital setting
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and prioritize tasks
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Moderate physical strength; good hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude

  • May provide supervisory support depending on experience
