About The Position

The Anesthesia Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the daily operations of anesthesia services to ensure safe, timely, and efficient patient care. This role provides direct supervision to anesthesia technicians and support staff, manages staffing schedules, ensures equipment and supply readiness, and partners with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and perioperative leaders to maintain smooth case flow. The Anesthesia Supervisor serves as a key operational resource, ensuring high-quality service delivery, compliance with hospital standards, and ongoing staff development.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of anesthesia or perioperative experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of anesthesia equipment, supplies, and workflow in the OR/procedural environment.

  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field
  • Prior supervisory experience in a hospital or surgical services environment.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, schedule, and evaluate anesthesia support staff.
  • Coordinate daily staffing coverage for operating rooms, procedural areas, and other clinical sites requiring anesthesia support.
  • Oversee anesthesia equipment and supply inventory; ensure readiness, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and nursing staff to optimize workflow and minimize case delays.
  • Support orientation, training, and competency development for new and existing staff.
  • Monitor compliance with hospital policies, infection control, and safety standards.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and assist with accreditation readiness.
  • Provide hands-on support when needed to meet operational and patient care demands.
