About The Position

Reverse engineering Android malware, defeating obfuscation techniques and collecting evidence of malicious behavior. Provide support in the form of scripting to enable better application triage and value-added reverse engineering expertise. Integrate existing scripts into our analysis pipelines and develop new scripts in response to customer specifications. Reverse Engineers will be working primarily with decompiled Java but will occasionally encounter Java/Smali bytecode and native libraries that require familiarity with the ARM assembly language. Regardless of whether you are applying to a software developer or reverse engineer position, if your application is approved, we will test you on both skills as part of our hiring process. At this time, the majority of our open positions require an aptitude in both domains.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship required (no exceptions)
  • Applicants MUST hold a TS (Top Secret) Level US Government Security Clearance at time of application.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cyber Security, or Math A minor in one of the above degree types is also acceptable if degree major is a hard STEM discipline.
  • Must possess strong software development skills
  • Must be able to read and/or write x86, x64, and/or ARM Assembly code
  • Able to create and debug scripts that enable reverse engineering
  • Familiar with maintainable software processes, including: software documentation, source code versioning, unit testing
  • Able to convey technical topics verbally, in source code comments, and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with ever-changing requirements
  • Possess one of the following Experience developing in Java and an interest in learning about Java bytecode and ARM assembly Experience reverse engineering binaries with Ghidra or IDA Pro

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Android development experience.
  • Experience reverse engineering mobile applications
  • Familiarity with APK decompilation tools such as JEB, JADX or Dex2Jar
  • Experience reverse engineering native ARM binaries with IDA Pro or Ghidra
  • Familiarity with the ARM assembly language
  • Familiar with hex editors and working at the byte-level
  • Platform specific mobile development language experience using Kotlin
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, strong work ethic
  • Able to quickly adapt to new situations and problems
  • Able to operate in a mission-critical and time-sensitive environments
  • Able to work in a team environment
