About The Position

We are looking for an experienced Android Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong in Java programming using Android Studio, with a focus on developing ATAK plugins. You will be involved in both new development and sustaining existing applications. You will also manage source code using Git and track issues using Jira. You may be responsible for all stages of the software engineering lifecycle, including requirements gathering, analysis, design, programming, debugging, and unit testing. Additionally, you will be required to estimate the scope and effort for tasks, develop software in a larger integrated system, work as part of a team, and apply troubleshooting techniques. Periodic travel for integration sessions at other sites and supporting build, test, or customer events may be required.

Requirements

  • Expertise in Java and Android Studio.
  • Expertise in developing and maintaining Android applications.
  • Expert problem-solving skills.
  • Expertise in multi-threaded programming and debugging.
  • Experience developing GUIs and knowledge of associated human factors / usability considerations.
  • Experience with network programming.
  • Experience with Git.
  • Experience with ATAK plugin development.
  • Experience with Linux, Android, and Windows OS.
  • Ability to complete tasks from a terminal (e.g., remoted into a system).
  • Experience with network configuration and tools (e.g., ssh, scp).

Nice To Haves

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in software development preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Programming in Java using Android Studio with a focus on ATAK plugins.
