About The Position

As an Android Developer, you will make an impact by designing and delivering high-quality native Android applications that provide seamless, high-performing mobile experiences. You will be a valued member of a cross-functional delivery team and work collaboratively with designers, backend engineers, and quality assurance partners to bring innovative mobile solutions to life. Please note, this role is not able to offer visa transfer or sponsorship now or in the future In this role, you will: Design, develop, test, and deploy native Android applications using Kotlin and/or Java Write clean, efficient, reusable, and high-performance mobile application code Integrate Android applications with RESTful APIs, databases, Firebase, and third-party libraries Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers, backend developers, and QA teams to deliver end-to-end solutions Implement unit tests, UI tests, and integration tests to ensure application quality and robustness Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance across Android devices Stay current on Android development trends, tools, and best practices Work model We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2–3 days per week in a Cognizant office. Requirements

  • Proven experience in native Android application development
  • Proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java for Android development
  • Hands-on experience with the Android SDK and Android development tools
  • Experience integrating RESTful APIs and working with JSON-based services
  • Solid understanding of the mobile development lifecycle, Android architectures, and design patterns

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Firebase and modern Android libraries or frameworks
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing for mobile applications
  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments
