About The Position

Chamberlain University is seeking superior instructors with high professional standards and excellent communication skills to teach undergraduate BSN nursing students on-site in Chicago, IL. The position involves teaching Anatomy & Physiology I-IV with Lab (BIOS-251 thru BIOS-256), focusing on a body systems approach to human anatomy and physiology. The coursework emphasizes the interrelationships between form and function at both gross and microscopic levels. Classes may be scheduled on Monday to Saturday, with options for days and evenings, and may meet once or twice a week for eight weeks. The role requires a commitment on a course-by-course basis, blending face-to-face interaction with technology for an enhanced learning environment.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree is required for all faculty positions, with 18 graduate hours in the subject being taught for undergraduate teaching.
  • Faculty must have requisite subject matter expertise and outstanding communication skills.
  • Faculty must possess excellent motivational and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment.
  • Must be able to work in a collegial manner and facilitate the efforts of diverse groups.
  • Additional requirements driven by state licensing or accreditation considerations may apply.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and provides students with an approved Adtalem Global Education syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, including terminal course objectives.
  • Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and updates all course materials.
  • Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including websites, e-mail, and online discussions.
  • Models effective oral and written communications that engage students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.
  • Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight distribution of various evaluation categories.
  • Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
  • Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provides timely feedback to students.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Benefits

  • Expected compensation rate for this position is between $1,120 per assignment to $7,245 per assignment, depending on the candidate’s education and experience.
  • Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law.
