Chamberlain University is seeking primarily Industry Professionals to share their knowledge and experience with undergraduate BSN nursing students on-site in New Orleans, LA. The position involves teaching Anatomy & Physiology I-IV with Lab, a four-course sequence that studies human anatomy and physiology using a body systems approach. The coursework emphasizes interrelationships between form and function at both gross and microscopic levels of organization. Courses may meet once or twice a week for eight weeks, blending face-to-face interaction in lab and classroom with technology for an enhanced learning environment. Commitment is on a course-by-course basis.

  • Develops and provides students with an approved Adtalem Global Education syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, including terminal course objectives.
  • Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and updates all course materials.
  • Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.
  • Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.
  • Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.
  • Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
  • Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provides timely feedback to students.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • Earned a master's or doctorate degree in the course subject, with a minimum of 18 or more graduate credit hours earned directly in the topic.
  • Able to provide official transcripts for all earned degrees from a regionally accredited institution (or a NACES approved US course-by-course equivalency evaluation for degrees earned and conferred outside of the US).
  • Have taught or been told you’re a 'natural' at teaching and helping others learn.
  • Possess genuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning.
  • Have exceptional subject matter expertise as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Expected compensation rate for this position is between $1,120 per assignment to $7,245 per assignment, depending on the candidate’s education and experience.
  • Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
