Our Surgical Pathology Department provides comprehensive services in gynecologic cytology, non-gynecologic cytology, and histology. This supervisor will collaborate closely with a leadership team committed to teamwork and operational excellence. Days, M-F BILD Eligible Overview Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. The laboratory is fully accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB). Role Purpose Focuses on the daily supervision of the Histology and/or Cytology laboratory staff as well as performance and development of routine and custom histologic and/or cytologic assays. Responsible for managing daily operations of complex histological and cytological tests and procedures on tissue samples (QA/QC, equipment maintenance, workflow, service levels, operational oversight, workspace), staff (first level supervision, scheduling, coaching, staff development, CD, etc.) and performing analysis within the regulatory requirements for cytology and/or histology. Ensures processing systems are functioning properly and samples are processed in a timely manner, with sufficient quality, and delivered to pathology and analytical laboratory as expected. BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
