This position involves assisting the pathologist with all aspects of forensic and hospital autopsies, which includes evisceration, photography, radiography, and identification of bodies. The role also requires admitting and releasing bodies from the morgue. A significant part of the job is performing death investigations, primarily in a follow-up capacity, but also extending to some death scene investigations. The individual will be responsible for collecting evidence, obtaining radiographic images and toxicology specimens during autopsies, and preparing death certificates for physicians. Additionally, the role entails requesting relevant documents like police reports and medical records, conducting follow-up interviews with family or witnesses, and reviewing/correcting investigative reports. The Anatomic Path Tech / In House Investigator will also represent the Office of the Medical Examiner at community meetings.
