About The Position

As an Analytics Engineer in Slalom's Data Experience (DX) practice, you will play a critical role in bridging business needs and technical solutions. You'll work hands-on with modern data platforms and semantic layer technologies, helping to transform the way organizations access, model, and leverage their data for analytics, AI, and decision support. You will collaborate with business and technical stakeholders, facilitate design sessions, and be a key contributor to our delivery of next-generation data solutions. Slalom is targeting candidates at the Consultant or Senior Consultant level for this role

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a related field
  • Proficiency in SQL and/or Python; experience with semantic layer tools (e.g., dbt, Looker, Power BI, Tableau, Sigma) is a plus
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and analytics solution design
  • Experience facilitating or participating in requirements/design workshops with business stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Exposure to or interest in AI/ML integration and modern data architectures
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and modernize semantic layers to enable self-service analytics, AI, and cross-platform reporting
  • Facilitate design and requirements sessions with business and technical teams, translating insights into actionable data models and technical solutions
  • Develop and optimize data models using SQL, Python, or other relevant languages
  • Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and stakeholders to ensure data quality, usability, and alignment with business goals
  • Implement best practices for data integration, governance, and analytics enablement
  • Contribute to the delivery of integrated analytics experiences, moving beyond traditional dashboards to deliver holistic, user-centric solutions
  • Stay current with emerging tools and techniques in analytics engineering, AI, and data platforms
