Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, economics, statistics, information management, engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or related professional work experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or related field.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and R; familiarity with Snowflake, Alteryx, and Azure; understanding of version control and business intelligence tools.
  • Advanced understanding of database design, data modeling, and data quality assurance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, documentation, organizational, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Data Pipelines Design, implement, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines using tools such as Alteryx, Azure Data Factory, or similar to optimize data processing efficiency.
  • Optimize data ingestion processes into data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and consistency across multiple sources.
  • Data Models Develop and maintain dimensional data models in data warehousing solutions like Snowflake for analytical and reporting purposes by integrating multiple data sources to provide actionable insights.
  • Implement data transformations and aggregation techniques to support complex analytical queries, Data Science needs, processes, and improve reporting and query performance.
  • Data Quality Establish automated data validation scripts and monitoring processes to reduce anomalies and maintain consistent high data integrity standards.
  • Implement corrective actions to ensure continued accuracy and reliability of data across platforms.
  • Collaboration Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate business objectives into technical solutions.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing on best practices for tools and data to foster a data-driven culture within the team.
  • Documentation Document data pipelines, data models, and technical specifications involving all workflows, schemas, and scripts to ensure clarity and reproducibility of data processes.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation on data lineage and metadata to support data governance requirements and team data tracking requirements.
  • Maintenance and Support Provide ongoing support for data pipelines, data models, and analytical systems under supervision.
  • Implement proactive alerting and monitoring mechanisms to identify and resolve data processing issues in a timely manner.
  • Performance Optimization Continuously evaluate and improve data processes and architectures to enhance performance and scalability.
  • Implement best practices for data management and optimization, including indexing, partitioning, and query optimization.
  • Data Compliance Ensure data usage adheres to established Data Governance best practices, including any requirements for data encryption and regulatory and audit purposes.
