As part of the Insights at BlueLabs, you’ll be working with a group of analysts and data scientists who work across BlueLabs’ client sectors, including commercial, political, and non-profit clients, to inform data-driven decisions and strategy. This position requires a mix of analysis, data management, presentation, and communication skills. You’ll be responsible for technical analysis as well as putting together the reports and calculators that will power our solutions as well as working on the client-facing materials that summarizes those findings. The Analytics Associate I is an entry level role great for those who have done data work in the past, either at school or in a professional environment, and are looking to become more experienced practitioners in their field. You will join a team of senior associates and analysts that can help deepen your understanding of both data analytics and the art of data storytelling.

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in a related field with some statistical background or 1+ year of experience analyzing data and coming up with solutions
  • You are passionate about harnessing data-driven solutions to improve social outcomes
  • You’re eager to learn the fundamental techniques in data management, analysis, and visualization
  • You can recognize patterns and are careful to check assumptions—whether they are your own or someone else’s
  • You have excellent attention to detail
  • Experience or interest in learning a programming language (Python, Java, Ruby, SQL, etc.).
  • Familiarity in statistical programs (SAS, SPSS, R, etc.).
  • Spreadsheet and presentation software (Excel, Google Sheets, PowerPoint, Keynote).
  • Data visualization and business intelligence tools (GIS, Tableau, Periscope etc.).
