About The Position

As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen, lawful resident alien, citizen of American Samoa or other territory owning permanent allegiance to the United States. Entry-level toxicologist/analyst conducting analyses on biological specimens for the military drug testing community and the Office of the Armed Forces Medical Examiner. Responsibilities encompass providing screening and confirmation data for forensic investigations and contributing to research and analytical projects as mission requirements change.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Analytical Chemistry, Toxicology, Pharmacology, or a related scientific discipline.
  • No specific experience required, entry-level position.
  • Internships or coursework involving laboratory work, preferably in analytical chemistry, toxicology, or a related field, would be beneficial.
  • Basic understanding of analytical techniques commonly used in toxicology, such as chromatography and mass spectrometry.
  • Familiarity with laboratory protocols and techniques, including pipetting, sample preparation, and use of basic laboratory equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in conducting experiments and documenting results.
  • Good communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with team members.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new laboratory procedures and techniques.
  • Willingness and ability to work collaboratively with other team members in a laboratory setting.
  • Basic problem-solving skills to address challenges encountered during analyses.
  • Understanding of and commitment to ethical conduct in the handling of sensitive information and adherence to laboratory protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct screening and confirmation analyses on biological specimens.
  • Provide essential screening and confirmation data to support investigations in forensic matters.
  • Compile and report screening and confirmation data accurately.
  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of screening and confirmation results.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams and agencies involved in forensic investigations.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of screening and confirmation processes.
  • Adhere to established protocols and guidelines in forensic analysis.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvement efforts in forensic analysis procedures.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
