Chemours is seeking an Analytical Sr. Staff Supervisor to join our Core Services Team in the Thermal & Specialty Solutions (TSS) business! This position will report directly to the Global Core Services Manager at our CDH location in Newark, DE. The position will be responsible for providing critical analytical testing on existing and new refrigerant molecules and blends for the growing TSS business. This position will need to work closely with the Product, Technical Service, and Process groups to support critical programs. This role combines hands-on analytical expertise with supervisory responsibility for the Core Services Analytical team, ensuring safe, high‑quality execution of laboratory operations and team development. This position is on-site and based in the analytical laboratory, with an expectation of regular in-office presence five (5) days per week to support laboratory operations, team supervision, safety, and quality activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Analytical or Organic chemistry with at least 7 years of work experience in an analytical laboratory will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and/or coordinate work of others in a lab environment.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage team workload in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in advanced analytical techniques (GC/GC‑MS, IC, FT‑IR), basic wet‑chemistry, and formulation methods; must be comfortable working in a wet‑lab environment with hazardous materials.
  • Experience maintaining, calibrating, repairing, and troubleshooting analytical instrumentation.
  • Strong foundation in laboratory quality and safety practices.
  • Self‑motivated and customer‑focused, with the ability to plan, prioritize, and deliver results independently under time‑bound conditions.
  • Strong problem‑solving, troubleshooting, and data analysis skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing for SOPs, test methods, data packages, and patent‑related documents.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree (PhD or MS) in Analytical or Organic chemistry with at least 3 years of post-grad work experience in an analytical laboratory.
  • Demonstrated experience applying general analytical techniques to materials in the gas phase and/or liquified gas state preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with fluorochemical handling preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience applying general analytical techniques to fluorochemical materials is considered a plus.
  • Experience working with ISO, ASHRAE, ASTM and other standards.
  • Familiarity with design of experiments and other statistical techniques.
  • Prior supervisory work or related experience overseeing project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-lab analytical testing (GC, IC, other methods per AHRI 700) for both existing and new fluorochemical products.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, design, and calibrate laboratory setups to develop analytical assessment tools for fluorochemical research or to resolve ongoing product, process, or customer issues.
  • Plan and conduct experiments independently, collect necessary data, organize/record the data, share conclusions broadly and continue experiments as needed with minimal guidance from colleagues.
  • Ensure the various laboratory measurement systems are in good working condition and to make upgrades as needed.
  • Ensure utmost safety in experimental design and analysis.
  • Maintain equipment, procedures, and documentation per quality standards. (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and other relevant standards).
  • Provide high quality analysis safely in time-bound manner.
  • Supervise the Core Services Analytical team, ensuring day-to-day work is coordinated, assigned, and performed safely with focus on quality of data.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all analytical laboratory functions and resources are run safely, accurately and efficiently.
  • Oversee new method development, instrument performance and maintenance, analytical laboratory budgeting (CAPEX and OPEX), and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and capability.
  • Support employee development, coaching, and performance management.
