About The Position

Provide analytical support to operations, production, and reporting within a disciplined controls environment. Produce model inputs and perform business analysis to deliver key performance indicators and ensure efficient operations, including the creation of asset inventories, economic assumptions, and reinvestment strategies. Provide timely, quality resolution of inquiries and ad hoc requests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in math, actuarial science, statistics, or related science field; finance, investment, or related business field
  • Academic or other exposure in one or more of the following areas: insurance liabilities, asset valuation, derivatives modeling, data mining, artificial intelligence
  • Good understanding of investment and finance concepts, and be able to creatively apply in solving analytical problems in the business setting

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with asset liability management processes in insurance or banking
  • Understanding of actuarial and accounting
  • Experience with Life and Health liability product valuation or Derivatives Hedging valuation
  • Experience with data management and process automation with Python/R/VBA

Responsibilities

  • Run business processes that directly impact Transamerica financials.
  • Run investment portfolio and ALM mismatch analytics for Life and/or Health products by working cohesively with members of product pricing, valuation, finance, and risk areas.
  • Support quarterly IFRS/DAC/Unlocking/Loss Recognition, Financial Plan/Capital Reforecast, Principles Based Reserves, and C3P1 models, as well as annual Medium Term Plan, and Cash Flow Testing models
  • Engage in annual discussions regarding economic assumption changes and facilitate the creation of model files that reflect the updated assumptions.
  • Provide AXIS and MG_ALFA format asset inventory, economic assumption, and investment input files to support Asset and Liability Management analysis on a regular basis.
  • Collaborate with more senior analysts on the development of code updates and process automation in ALM analytical tools and platforms.
  • Assist customers in explanation of ALM model results attribution and reconciliation.
  • Provide support and input required for change management documentation each quarter for assumption and/or system updates.
  • Resolve potential production issues; escalate as appropriate.
