Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in food science, business, industrial engineering desired, or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant business experience utility operator and crew leader roles minimum 3 years or work experience combined with education.

Responsibilities

  • Observe and learn how the various Plant operating areas interact and impact upon each other during the daily operations.
  • Obtain actual experience in the areas of leading a team, achievement of operational, quality, safety and financial goals.
  • Meet production requirements.
  • Operate the production crew to be within budget from an overtime, material usage, expense and quality basis.
  • Learn the proper employee relations techniques and requirements.
  • Counseling skills.
  • Open door policy.
  • Safety training.
  • Employee evaluations and reviews.
  • Develop supervisory skills needed to run a production crew of 10 - 20 employees.
  • Deal directly with hourly production employees and learn to motivate, direct, as well as deal with employee relations situations.
  • Achieve the goals of the department and plant while dealing with peers in other departments.
