About The Position

At Remedy, analytical chemistry drives our ability to measure, understand, and accelerate environmental remediation. We are developing analytical workflows that quantify trace organic and inorganic pollutants across diverse matrices including soil, sediment, and water. As an Analytical Chemist, you will be responsible for developing, validating, and operating a suite of analytical techniques to support remediation technology development and field deployment. You will work closely with process chemists, engineers, and data scientists to generate actionable insights from complex datasets. This role is highly hands-on and suited for a mid to senior-level scientist who thrives in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in chemistry, analytical chemistry, or a related field plus 5+ years of hands-on experience in analytical chemistry roles or a Master’s in chemistry, analytical chemistry, or a related field plus 1+ years of hands-on experience in analytical chemistry roles.
  • Demonstrated expertise with GC- or LC-MS methods, including sample prep.
  • Strong data analysis skills using tools such as Python, R, or Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong hands-on experimental and troubleshooting capability.
  • High level of analytical rigor and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated expertise with ICP-OES, ICP-MS or XRF methods, including sample prep.
  • Experience in developing or implementing environmental remediation technologies.
  • Experience in analyzing complex environmental matrices.
  • Familiarity with destruction pathways of persistent organic pollutants.
  • Knowledge of EPA, ASTM, or ISO standard methods.
  • Experience supporting process development or automation initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, validate, and apply analytical methods for the measurement of organic and inorganic contaminants.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation including LC-MS/MS, DART-MS/MS, GC-MS, GC-FID, ICP-OES, and XRF.
  • Design and optimize solvent extraction and solid-phase microextraction (SPME) methods.
  • Quantify degradation products and assess contaminant destruction efficiency.
  • Analyze and interpret complex datasets to support chemical and process optimization
  • Maintain rigorous documentation of methods, calibrations, and results.
  • Prepare technical reports and clearly communicate findings to cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate analytical tools into automated and field-deployable systems.
  • Support laboratory and field sampling campaigns.
  • Assist in experimental design and troubleshooting related to analytical performance.
  • Maintain a strong safety culture in laboratory and field operations.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and waste disposal regulations.
