The Analytical Chemist III plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of laboratory testing. Duties include:

  • Compliance & Ethics : Follow all company policies, SOPs, and quality standards, including ISO/IEC 17025, NELAC, and other accrediting agencies. Uphold principles of Good Laboratory Practices and maintain ethical standards and conflict-of-interest policies.
  • Testing & Quality Control : Independently perform testing and quality control procedures, producing accurate , traceable, and defensible results within client timelines. Review client requests against test data, follow methods exactly, ensure controls are in place, and report any problems with equipment, media, or test methods.
  • Instrumentation : Operate and maintain advanced instrumentation including HPLC, GC, ICP-MS, LC- MS or GC-MS, as well as UV-VIS, FTIR, analytical balances, and safety hoods. Perform troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and non-routine problem-solving.
  • Sample Management : Oversee the full flow of samples through the chemistry lab, including preparation (such as homogenization), retention/disposal, and daily quality control samples.
  • Record Keeping : Maintain accurate , legible, and traceable records for all activities. Make corrections properly and ensure documentation links back to the person performing the function.
  • Methods & Validation : Become proficient with test methods and reagents, know where SOPs and reference materials are located , and understand expected results. Perform method transfers and participate in method validations and verifications.
  • Data Review & Reporting : Recognize reasonable/unusual results based on client specifications or past history and promptly report concerns to the Lead Chemist or Chemistry Manager.
  • Laboratory Support : Actively participate in cleaning, equipment maintenance, and general lab upkeep to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
  • Client Interaction : Communicate with clients about test results, problems, and methods as .
  • Leadership Support : Perform the duties of Wet Chemist I and II when necessary, assist with training, and take on additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

  • Authorized to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship
  • BS degree or higher in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related science discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Analytical Chemist II position or related role.
  • Must have experience running LC-MS (SCIEX and/or ThermoFisher Quantiva)
  • Ability to work and collaborate within a team structure
  • Possess strong attention to detail and strong communication skills.
  • Experience in water soluble and fat-soluble analysis by LC-MS
  • Preventative maintenance and troubleshooting
