About The Position

The Analytical Chemist II at Nexus Pharmaceuticals is a key role within the Research and Development team, focusing on the development and validation of analytical methods for injectable ANDAs. This position involves conducting stability studies and performing sample testing to support regulatory submissions, ensuring that high-quality FDA-approved drugs are delivered effectively.

Requirements

  • PhD in a scientific discipline with a minimum of 0-1 years of experience, or MS in a scientific discipline with a minimum of 2 years experience, or BS/BA in a scientific discipline with a minimum of 4 years of experience.
  • Experience in HPLC is required for API analysis.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform analytical testing with precision and accuracy, completing tasks on time.
  • Ability to train new chemists.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in GC, particle size analysis, wet chemistry, and DSC/TGA is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analytical testing of materials, finished products, and components using wet chemistry and analytical chemistry techniques.
  • Analyze test methods by HPLC, GC, GC/MS, and other methods.
  • Proficiently operate laboratory instrumentation such as HPLC, GC, FTIR, and UV-Vis.
  • Conduct routine maintenance of analytical instruments.
  • Provide analytical support to the formulation group to finalize formulation compositions and components for new products.
  • Prepare standard volumetric solutions and reagents used in testing.
  • Interpret analytical data critically and execute mathematical calculations as outlined in test methods.
  • Assess data to determine if the tested material meets specifications.
  • Peer review and approve raw data, and may write and review SOPs, Validation Protocols, Quality Protocols, Test Methods, and Specifications.
  • Document test activities clearly, accurately, and completely on approved worksheets and laboratory notebooks.
  • Manage and track assigned projects.
  • Perform Extractable/leachable studies for container closure systems of drug products.
  • May be assigned to general laboratory duties.
