About The Position

Eurofins Food Chemistry Madison is looking for amazing team members to join us in our new ISO 17025 accredited laboratory in Madison, WI. We specialize in food chemistry testing, including infant formula, sole-source nutrition products, hemp and CBD, dietary supplements, and various botanicals. Our testing portfolio includes vitamins, minerals, contaminants, pesticides, and shelf-life studies. We utilize a variety of instrumentation including UPLC, HPLC, GC, and LCMS technologies. This position offers an innovative and collaborative team environment, with opportunities to develop expertise on a wide variety of analytical instruments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (Laboratory experience may be substituted for degree)
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Familiarity with the use of standard laboratory equipment
  • 2+ years experience with HPLC
  • Basic knowledge of computers and software programs

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates and promotes the company vision

  • Organizes, conducts and evaluates analytical results and testing independently and in compliance with applicable methods, protocols, SOPs and regulatory agency guidelines
  • Documents work and maintains study documentation and laboratory records
  • Independently uses and performs basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment and software appropriate for assigned tasks, while performing routine and non-routine maintenance
  • Provides input and participates in project meetings, plans, monitors and guides project work
  • Performs peer review and QC review of data
  • Performs assigned workload on a daily basis and effectively completes multiple assignments
  • Promotes and contributes to a cohesive team environment and maintains a positive attitude
  • Plans individual workload in coordination with team members
  • Maintains a clean and safe laboratory work environment
  • Understands data generated, and history of methods
  • Recognizes deviations from normal results and informs Study Director, Principal Investigator, and/or management of any problems and/or deviations that may affect the integrity of the data and participates in corrective action of problems
  • Identifies problems, determines appropriate actions, and implements solutions with support or independently as appropriate
  • Able to adapt to new procedures or particular needs as directed
  • Able to identify critical steps in an assay
  • Drives and implements process improvement initiatives
  • Completes all required training courses
  • Trains and assists less experienced staff
  • Assists in setting up and performing optimization and validation of various analytes in a variety of matrices
  • Participates in client visits or calls as needed and assists in communicating technical information
  • Assists in writing reports, methods, protocols and SOPs, and makes suggestions for modifications in test methods and procedures
  • Knowledge of departmental procedures and policies
  • Effectively plans and utilizes personnel and resources for timely completion of assigned projects
  • May plan, monitor, or guide non-routine work within their team
  • Viewed as a resource across multiple teams
  • Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner
  • Performs other duties as assigned
