About The Position
The World Bank Group is seeking three Analysts to join the Independent Evaluation Group (IEG) to enhance the effectiveness of its development initiatives through rigorous evaluation practices. The IEG's mission is to improve the World Bank Group's development results by conducting thorough evaluations of its operational policies, programs, and activities. The Analysts will play a crucial role in assessing the relevance, efficacy, and efficiency of these initiatives, ensuring they align with the strategic priorities of the institution and address the pressing development challenges faced by member countries. The Analysts will be responsible for a variety of tasks that include data extraction, cleaning, exploratory data analysis, quantitative analysis, structured qualitative data analysis, and data visualization. They will collaborate with the IEG Methods Advisory Function team to apply advanced data science techniques, including text mining, natural language processing, machine learning, and geospatial analysis. This role requires a strong analytical mindset and the ability to contribute to the design and implementation of evaluations based on sound methodologies. Key responsibilities include extracting data from various internal and external databases, designing analytical protocols, conducting portfolio identification and analysis, and preparing data visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings. The Analysts will also contribute to drafting reports, case studies, and communication materials, ensuring that evaluation findings are disseminated effectively to inform decision-making within the World Bank Group and its member countries. Additionally, they will assist in orienting new team members and responding to data requests from other teams within IEG and the broader World Bank Group.
