GS Wealth Services Portfolio Advisory Group PAG is seeking an Analyst who can provide portfolio/relationship management support to Wealth Management Advisor teams by focusing on client service, serving as a key liaison to areas supporting the PAG business including the Investment Strategy Group, Compliance, and Technology and assisting in managing the investment process of multi-asset class portfolios. The individual will be a main point of contact for teams with respect to supporting new business solicitations and managing general on-going client portfolio needs. Responsibilities will include responding to questions on the GS Wealth Services Investment platform, third party investments, the macroeconomic environment, conditions in the financial markets and reviewing portfolio performance.

Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree (U.S. or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in financial services, preferably within wealth management, investment research, or portfolio strategy.
  • Series 7 and 63 licenses required; commitment to obtaining CFA Charter highly encouraged and sponsored in accordance with firm policy.
  • Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of global financial markets, macroeconomic trends, and investment products across asset classes (equities, fixed income, alternatives).
  • Proven ability to perform sophisticated equity, fixed income, and alternatives analysis, including valuation methodologies, to assess risks and merits of various offerings.
  • Strong analytical capabilities in strategic asset allocation, including assessing client risk tolerance, time horizon, and investment objectives to construct diversified portfolios.
  • Proficiency in applying statistical and regression analysis for investment option evaluation and market analysis.
  • Solid foundation in financial mathematics and investment performance reporting.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, with the ability to distill advanced macroeconomic and capital market concepts into clear, concise, and actionable insights for advisors and clients.
  • Comfort and confidence in presenting complex information to diverse audiences of varying sizes and sophistication.
  • Ability to effectively explain firm's macroeconomic analysis views to guide multi-asset class portfolio construction.
  • Expert-level proficiency with industry-standard platforms including Excel (advanced modeling), FactSet, Morningstar, and Bloomberg for data analysis, transformation, and publication creation.
  • Experience with statistical modeling software for data interpretation and presentation.
  • Highly proficient in Windows Technology (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a genuine passion for engaging with advisors and clients, and for mentoring junior talent.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Investment Guidance: Lead in-depth analysis and research of investment securities across proprietary and third-party platforms. Serve as a primary expert for GS Wealth Services advisors, articulating complex investment implementation strategies and their pivotal role in strategic asset allocation.
  • Portfolio Solutions & Support: Deliver sophisticated analytical support for comprehensive portfolio reviews, empowering GS Wealth advisors in the strategic construction and meticulous maintenance of multi-asset class portfolios. Explain intricate investment options, including individual equities/bonds, mutual funds, options, private equity, hedge funds, and separately managed accounts—into clear, actionable insights.
  • Quantitative Research & Thought Leadership: Drive cutting-edge quantitative research in factor-based strategic portfolio asset allocation and cross-asset class analysis. Apply advanced statistical and regression analysis to rigorously evaluate investment options and dissect financial market dynamics. Author compelling research publications on complex macroeconomic and investment topics, positioning GS Wealth Services as a thought leader for advisors and clients.
  • Advisor & Client Engagement: Provide expert guidance and timely responses to GS Wealth Services advisors on economic and financial market views, client portfolio allocation, and performance inquiries.
  • Operational Innovation & Efficiency: Collaborate strategically with engineering teams to automate processes, enhance data quality, and develop sophisticated portfolio monitoring tools across platforms such as Excel, FactSet, Morningstar, Bloomberg, and proprietary internal systems.
  • Product & Platform Liaison: Act as a key liaison, synthesizing research from portfolio management teams and coordinating with product groups to ensure seamless investment platform updates and enhancements. Ensure meticulous maintenance of client portfolio records, reviews, and reports.
  • Talent Development & Collaboration: Forge and nurture robust professional relationships with key internal stakeholders and diverse product groups across the Asset and Wealth Management Division, as well as with Legal, Compliance, and Technology teams.
  • Serve as a key liaison to other areas supporting the PAG business including Legal, Compliance, and Technology
