Location: Goodyear, AZ Job Summary: Universal Logistics is looking for an experienced Analyst/Cycle Count Inventory Specialist to ensure accurate inventory management across our AS400 and WMS systems. This role requires conducting cycle counts, identifying and resolving discrepancies, and maintaining inventory accuracy for household appliance production lines and sub-assembly operations. The ideal candidate should have a strong problem-solving mindset, utilizing methodologies like 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and Lean Six Sigma to determine root causes of inventory issues. While primarily a floor-level role (80%), this position also involves office-based reporting and system updates (20%).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent, preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in inventory control, cycle counting, or warehouse operations.
  • Ability to use handheld scanners, barcode readers, and other inventory tracking tools.
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift objects for extended periods when conducting inventory counts.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and Lean Six Sigma for problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with AS400 and WMS inventory management systems.
  • Experience working with household appliance production lines and sub-assembly processes.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory reporting tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cycle counts and physical inventory audits to maintain accuracy across AS400 and WMS inventory systems.
  • Investigate and analyze inventory discrepancies using root cause analysis methods and implement corrective actions.
  • Update inventory records, ensuring real-time accuracy between physical stock and system data.
  • Generate detailed inventory reports and provide insights on discrepancies, cycle count progress, and system updates.
  • Work closely with production, warehouse, and supply chain teams to resolve inventory issues.
  • Follow best practices in inventory control and material handling (no certifications are required).
  • Support inventory reconciliation processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient operations and resolve any issues or concerns.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with inventory management standards.
