We’re looking for an Analyst to join our Consumer Retail team in New York City and use their skills and ideas to make an impact to the success of the business at Goldman Sachs. OUR IMPACT The Consumer Retail group (CRG) advises clients in the consumer and retail sectors on various financial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts (LBOs), equity / equity-linked and debt financings, joint ventures, restructurings, activism defense and financial investments. Key sub-sectors in Consumer Retail include Food & Beverage, Beauty & Personal Care, Branded Consumer Durables, Apparel, Restaurants, Grocery Retailers & Convenience Stores, Hardlines & Specialty Retailers, etc. HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL Investment Banking Analysts at Goldman Sachs gain exposure to the firm's businesses and expanded knowledge of the investment banking industry, as they develop key analytical, communications, marketing and sales skills. Analysts create and analyze financial models, performing scenario analyses and tests to examine the effects of client alternatives. In addition, analysts organize and prepare presentations, which explain industry trends, discuss client options, and recommend strategies to meet client goals. Analysts may also participate in and conduct due diligence sessions, a necessary component of financial transactions. From maintaining client communication to helping Goldman Sachs structure client transactions, our analysts are a vital part of Goldman Sachs banking teams. Requirements
- Undergraduate Degree in Economics / Finance / Accounting related discipline is preferable
- Experience with modelling and financial statements analysis
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
- Ability to work flexibly as part of multiple teams and autonomously
- Ability to juggle changing priorities and a varied workload
Nice To Haves
- Current experience as an investment banking analyst
- Consumer Retail banking and transaction experience preferred
