As an Analyst, you will play a key role in assessing the risks and providing structural recommendations of structures of securitizations of financial assets – where repayment is driven by the cash flows generated from these assets. Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in a quantitative discipline
  • Strong interest in Structured Finance

Nice To Haves

  • Internship or work experience in Commercial or Investment Banking, especially with a credit, structuring and/or market focus
  • Familiarity with Asset-Backed and/or securitization markets
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Basic understanding of credit, documentation, and transaction processes
  • Ability to perform well under pressure in a demanding environment

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate client-specific asset data and performance trends (delinquencies, defaults, net losses, recoveries, servicing KPIs) to form a prospective risk outlook
  • Develop a forward-looking view of client businesses and collateral risk; conduct traditional corporate financial analysis of originators and servicers as needed (liquidity, leverage, cash flow, profitability, covenant compliance, operational resiliency)
  • Develop foundational knowledge of securitized financial assets
  • Participate in due diligence meetings, which may be virtual or at the client’s office
  • Monitor all aspects of the assigned credit portfolio, including industry trends, portfolio performance, compliance with covenants, potential risks and opportunities
  • Validate cash-flow and waterfall models to confirm loss coverage, liquidity, weighted average life, and trigger headroom; challenge model assumptions
  • Ensure internal risk grades remain accurate
  • Work closely with credit risk officers, coverage bankers and product partners to develop structures appropriate for the risk profile of the assets to be financed
  • Support the assessment of stress or downside credit scenarios
  • Ensure accurate booking of exposures in J.P. Morgan credit systems; coordinate with middle office to maintain data integrity
  • Prepare written credit analysis and recommendations for senior credit officers
  • Prepare and present period portfolio reviews to senior credit executives and business partners
