The position will provide business support to Peoples Gas and North Shore This is a job family posting where the experience of the selected candidate will determine the level offered. Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related business degree is required
• Minimum of 1 years’ accounting, and finance experience

Nice To Haves

• Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Attention to detail, a strong initiative and results-orientated
• Problem-solving and analytical skills
• SAP Experience is Preferred

Responsibilities

• This position will ensure compliance with financial/accounting controls and deadlines.
• Incumbent will assist with financial closings, analyze data, prepare and enter journal entries, perform account reconciliations, prepare internal and external financial reports, provide back up and rotation of responsibilities, and maintain complex spreadsheets.
• This role will also participate in the annual budget and forecast process, conduct variance analysis and support special projects as needed.
• The incumbent must work well with others outside of accounting/finance (i.e. external/internal auditors, customer service, regulatory and, etc.).
• The incumbent will work independently, handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
