Role Overview: The Underwriting Services Analyst is a key member of the Underwriting Operations team, directly supporting the execution and delivery of product initiatives and day-to-day processes. This hands-on role is responsible for carrying out activities across the product lifecycle, including gathering business requirements, supporting functional and data design, assisting with user acceptance testing, and facilitating change management. The Analyst will work closely with underwriting, Underwriting Operations team leads, IT, BPO vendors and other Operations analysts to ensure operational excellence and successful execution of transactions in a policy life cycle.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance, with a strong background in underwriting, claims, and/or billing systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional project teams.
  • Experience supporting business customers promptly and professionally.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders at all levels.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while coordinating with broader teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support the elicitation and documentation of business requirements for new and existing underwriting products, ensuring a clear understanding of objectives related to products, processes, distribution, compliance, and reporting. Maintain a focus on automation, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Assist in troubleshooting system and process issues, opening appropriate IT tickets and representing the business on associated project related work.
  • Translate business requirements into user acceptance test cases and perform testing on behalf of Underwriting Operations.
  • Provide day-to-day support and guidance to team members, contributing to training delivery and the successful adoption of changes and new products.
  • Execution, maintenance and monitoring of policy notices, along with other supporting duties in Underwriting Operations.
