The position is based in our Boston office and requires in-person attendance. The essential job duties include participating in establishing procedures for acquiring, entering, and verifying real estate market data related to properties, listings, tenants, and comparable transactions for all divisions covered by the district offices. The role involves maintaining the market data integrity used in the research function, overseeing data collection, data input/verification, and review by salespeople. Additionally, the position is responsible for addressing issues of data quality and maintaining a policy of data security both within and outside the office. The individual will aggregate, analyze, interpret, and report market research data through internal and outside sources, working closely with associates to address their research needs and formulate text and graphics for regular market information reports. Monitoring the research capabilities of local market competition and understanding all software programs used within the research function are also key responsibilities. The role includes researching and recommending new programs for the maintenance of research information, evaluating new sources and existing products, and understanding all purchased research-related data sources including tax record information, ownership information, and tenant prospect databases. The individual will have thorough knowledge of all operations performed by staff members of the client services function and may assist in training new staff, interns, and brokers/sales staff in Company software programs. Promoting the research function and its capabilities to the brokers/sales staff, complying with corporate mandates of reporting appropriate market statistics, and coordinating requests and responses between the local office and Company resources are also part of the job. The position requires maintaining the research reference library, including periodicals, reference publications, reference software, property brochure files, and research files, as well as researching and recommending new subscriptions and providing input on subscriptions where applicable. Attendance at all divisional specialty meetings to present relative research activities and conducting web searches for pertinent data and information related to research and analysis of local, regional, and national trends that influence the commercial real estate market are also expected.
