Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Support general functions of the property tax practice including assessment notice and tax bill processing.
  • Perform independent research and analytical reviews in support of the Property Tax practice.
  • Maintain software databases to ensure database and report integrity.
  • Create positive team member experiences that lead to excellent client service.
  • Respond to client inquiries and requests from tax authorities.
  • Interact with taxing jurisdictions to verify assessment, tax bill, and deadline information.
  • Monitor compliance and filing requirements in conjunction with staff and management.
  • Sort and batch incoming mail for processing.
  • Process tax bills and assessments timely, allowing sufficient time for client processing.
  • Coordinate outgoing mail processes including certified mail preparation and logging proof of mailers.
  • Scan and archive proof of mailers in the Property Tax system.
  • Assist in preparation for board hearings by organizing documentation for presentations.
  • Research asset ownership structures and jurisdictional tax policies as needed.
  • Build knowledge of property tax jurisdictions and their deadlines.
  • Coordinate processes with jurisdictional data requests to meet statutory deadlines.
