About The Position

In this role, you will gain expertise in the plastics and polymers industries, converting your knowledge and analysis into sustainable, profitable services for Chemical Market Analytics (CMA). You will support senior analysts in market research and conversations, focusing on industry economics, trade trends, and supply/demand evolution. As you develop your expertise, you will take ownership of CMA models for cost, price, and margin forecasting, while coordinating with global colleagues to ensure consistency. Building relationships with key industry contacts and suggesting enhancements to existing services will also be part of your responsibilities.

Requirements

  • 2+ years' relevant work experience
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, engineering, biological sciences or related discipline -OR- equivalent work experience
  • Data science skillset (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Become fluent in the upstream petrochemical feedstock dynamics and interfaces with assigned polymers
  • Provide analytical support in response to client questions related to assigned polymers
  • Provide subject matter support for single client consulting projects
  • Maintain a detailed working knowledge of CMA's models, databases, and tools
  • Monitor production capacity changes and maintain CMA's capacity database for assigned polymers
  • Support development of polymers and plastics industry trade data models and services focused on recyclables and sustainability
  • Lead semi-annual global supply/demand analysis process for assigned polymers and act as editor for related publications
  • Contribute written pieces about supply/demand and trade to monthly reports as needed
  • Maintain current presentation slide decks for individual use and use by global colleagues
