About The Position

Your Impact The Analyst, Lowe's Foundation will support the execution of the Foundations' national strategy, focused on skilled trades workforce development. Reporting to the manager, Lowe's Foundation, the analyst will be responsible for supporting outreach and engagement, the application evaluation process, impact measurement, and relationship building, both internally and externally. The analyst will provide support to the manager, Lowe's Foundation and the appropriate Lowe's Foundation Board subcommittee in the management of a grant portfolio focused on community and technical colleges, community-based nonprofit organizations or national organizations with a local footprint that have programs that provide job readiness, work-based learning and other supports to individuals seeking employment in the skilled trades. The Lowe's Foundation is a separate 501c (3) organization run by an independent Board of Directors and governed by bylaws.

Requirements

  • High School or GED
  • 2 years of philanthropic and/or nonprofit operations experience, corporate community relations, philanthropic/non-profit sector, community engagement, project management, higher education or workforce development
  • 5-10% Travel

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field
  • 2 years experience with grantmaking best practices
  • 2 years experience building community relationships and networks along with working with multicultural teams and environments
  • 2 years experience in corporate retail and/or skilled trades sector

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates an understanding of the Lowe’s Foundation grants program, its strategies and goals.
  • Supports the grant review process for the assigned portfolio, which includes, but is not limited to, providing Board member and subcommittee support, coordinating subcommittee meetings and applicant sessions, assisting with notifications, preparing subcommittee materials, onboarding grant recipients, board meeting preparation and other related duties.
  • Assists in tracking the portfolio budget.
  • Administers the grants management system to help: Processes and tracks submission of grant requests Prepares grant requests for the Foundation Board Filters, reviews and analyzes grant requests Processes approved grants and make notifications
  • Collaborates with the measurement vendor, assists with grant recipient measurement process, communications and review.
  • Supports and facilitates grant recipient engagement and grant recipient events over the grant lifecycle.
  • Orders materials and resources to support Lowe’s Foundation events and activations.
  • Responds to internal and external inquiries through the Lowe’s Foundation mailbox.
  • Prepares board meeting materials.
  • Assists with Lowe’s Foundation grant agreements and payments processing; understands and upholds compliance with grantmaking guidelines and regulations associated with the foundation’s 501(c)3 status.
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with Lowe’s Foundation team, grant recipients, Lowe’s Foundation Board members and other key stakeholders.
  • Supports Lowe’s Foundation Swing for Charity fundraisers and Lowe’s Foundation grantee events, as needed.
  • Supports integration and engagement with internal and external stakeholders, as appropriate.
  • Builds and maintains an active understanding of the skilled trades pathways, challenges, trends, and opportunities as it relates to the assigned portfolio.
  • Supports Lowe’s Foundation programs outside of the skilled trades grants, as assigned (e.g., Carl Buchan Scholarship program).
  • Completes other foundation-related duties, as assigned.
