About The Position

Overview Provide 24/7 advanced to expert level support of the enterprise desktop, gaming and non-gaming applications, peripherals, networked and non-networked devices including the ability to identify, research, and resolve technical problems. Manage software installation and upgrades projects. SQL supports mission-critical gaming and casino systems by providing full-stack application and database support. This role focuses on MS SQL Server scripting, stored procedure administration, performance troubleshooting. Make recommendations for improvements to current systems based on information gathered from end user surveys, trending reports, and system and application analysis. Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain operating systems, application software, and related utilities to provide efficient and reliable system operation. Provide coordination of network and PC support solutions and project management. Perform system and application analysis to improve performance and security. Create procedure, manual and documentation for use in the IT support structure. Provide administration of gaming, hospitality, point of sales, accounting/financial, various casino, back of house, and tribal applications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), A.S. or equivalent in Technical Institution (Two-year degree).
  • Four-year degree in Computer Science or equivalent years of experience
  • 3-4 years’ experience in the field or a related area
  • The individual should have Microsoft certification or equivalent experience with current Windows Server, and Windows enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that each guest receives outstanding service by creating a friendly environment and following Jackson Rancheria Guest Service Guidelines.
  • Requires 24/7 on call phone support when assigned to include the use of discretion and independent judgment with respect to decision making that affects all areas of IT support.
  • Perform system and application analysis including consulting with users to determine functional specifications and providing a recommendation to improve performance and security.
  • Identify opportunities that can improve efficiency of business processes.
  • Drawing up specific proposals for modified or replacement systems.
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Validates results by testing programs and systems.
  • Ensures operation by training client personnel; providing support.
  • Coordinate and manage projects related to software installation and upgrade.
  • Perform advanced to expert level administrative system and application support which may include gaming systems, non-gaming, accounting/financial systems, various casino and back of house, and tribal systems and applications.
  • Provide operational support for casino management, gaming, loyalty, and financial systems.
  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot Transact-Structured Query Language (T-SQL) scripts and stored procedures.
  • Analyze SQL Server logs, application logs, and system metrics to resolve incidents.
  • Support performance tuning and query optimization for high-volume transactional systems.
  • Perform safe data corrections using approved change and audit procedures.
  • Assist with basic SQL Server administration including backups, monitoring, and job review.
  • Experience supporting SQL Server in production environments.
  • Perform advanced administration of Active Directory, email, and various application user accounts.
  • Communicating and coordinating scheduled maintenance and downtime with internal customers.
  • Respond to incidents and create service requests using the service desk tracking system.
  • Prepare and maintain manuals and documentation for IT support (i.e., desktop procedures, end-user help guidelines, trouble-shooting guides and hardware and application installation procedures).
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain network connected hardware and software, including peripherals, laptop and desktop PC, printers, kiosks, and miscellaneous devices.
  • Assist with compliance efforts pertaining to the Minimum Internal Control Standards for IT requirements.
  • Assist with Change Management and Disaster Recovery Plan and testing.
  • This includes policy, procedures, and documentation in accordance to JRCR TGA, NIGC MICS, and industry standards.
  • Assist with the design and implementation of desktop deployments and operating system upgrades.
  • Assist with the coordination of third-party maintenance for enterprise level hardware and software.
  • Assist with IT procurement and product review.
