About The Position

The Analyst position in Investment Banking at TD Securities focuses on the Power & Utilities and Chemicals sectors. This role involves working closely with senior bankers to provide sophisticated knowledge of capital markets and execute various investment banking activities, including equity and debt offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic advisory work. Analysts are expected to develop a strong understanding of the energy industry and financial markets while conducting research and analysis to support client needs.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in Business (Accounting or Finance) or Mathematics/Economics.
• 0-3 years of related experience in investment banking or finance.
• Valid Series 79 license is preferred.
• Superior financial and analytical skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
• Proactive and highly motivated, able to work independently and in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Microsoft Excel for financial modeling.
• Knowledge of capital markets and investment banking processes.

Responsibilities

• Work within a deal team under the overall direction of a senior banker.
• Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the energy industry and financial markets.
• Research and analyze clients' financial situations, industry and market data, and M&A opportunities.
• Assist with the valuation of assets and companies (both private and public).
• Maintain comparable trading and precedent transaction databases.
• Perform complex financial and M&A modeling.
• Prepare external client proposals and internal memos.
• Prepare client presentations and marketing materials.
• Maintain confidentiality of client information.
• Establish an environment that promotes respect for individual employees.
