About The Position

Total Wine & More is seeking an Analyst to join our Pricing team in our Bethesda, MD office. You will help develop and execute pricing strategies, assess competitive intelligence, and analyze changes in margin and sales. This is a cross-functional role that will collaborate across Market Management, Merchandising, Marketing, and Store Operations to ensure pricing strategies align with our goals. As this role involves interaction with departments across the company, this is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter and a team player to learn about many aspects of our unique business and impact profitability. You will report to the Manager, Pricing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business Management or Mathematics
  • 1 -2+ years of experience in a field related to retail or analytics
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Skills, specifically Excel (XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables)

Responsibilities

  • Own pricing of all national brand products in assigned states covering over $900 million in annual sales
  • Work with Market Management, Buying and Field teams to gain an in-depth understanding of product knowledge, market level pricing strategies, legalities, and the competitive landscape
  • Develop, review, and document pricing strategies and business rules for assigned markets
  • Review and execute retails daily, including initial retails, using a state-of-the-art pricing tool
  • Resolve all pricing requests submitted by store managers in assigned markets and identify cause of issues
  • Analyze effectiveness of pricing actions weekly by reviewing market level reporting
  • Assist with competitive analysis through online research and advertising review, ensuring all pricing issues are identified, evaluated and addressed in a timely manner
  • Work with Marketing to determine the items to be advertised by market and the retail pricing of those items
  • Support the ongoing development and refinement of our internal pricing tool
  • Additional ad hoc projects as assigned
