About The Position

CarMax relies on significant investments in physical infrastructure to fuel our future growth. These investments include both the continued expansion of our retail locations as well as the vast network of facilities required to support sales of 1,600,000+ vehicle a year with reconditioning, auction, and transportation capacity. Our team of business analysts plays a critical role in identifying future opportunities for expansion, developing strategies to support growth on a 3-10 year time horizon, and highlighting key insights to unlock optimal returns on our existing investment portfolio. Key questions include: · Where are the largest opportunity areas to reach new customers? · What store type is optimal for serving that demand? · What is the expected return on investment? · How should future investments change as more of our business shifts online? · Which regions will need additional reconditioning and auction facilities? · How should these facilities be prioritized and when is the optimal time to build? As an Analyst, you will work closely with our Operational and Strategy business partners to make key recommendations for financially optimal expansion strategies. These strategies will support CarMax’s long term strategic goals and ensure that we have the right infrastructure in place to meet the growing needs of our retail and wholesale customers.
