About The Position

The purpose of this Knoxville, TN based position is to function as a single point of contact to ensure correct data flows from the commercial supply and marketing teams into the subsequent systems, teams, and processes. This role will interact with the various S&D support groups to resolve data related issues and will assist in removing non-commercial activities from the commercial team members. Partner with the Supply and other relevant teams to establish and maintain a formal process/workflow for analyzing, collecting, communicating, and establishing the economics of supply deals & Retail Transfer Prices within PFJ Energy accounting and back-office systems. Work with Business Line Leaders to ensure that all commercial purchase details are understood, communicated, and flowing correctly into deal capture systems (i.e., ContractRite, MLM, playbook); validate that pricing output from reconciliation systems (Right Angle, PDI) are correct and reflect expectation. Take corrective action if necessary. Provide analytical assistance to the Supply team during their deal vetting process. Assistance to include modeling the performance of potential deals against historical indices, modeling scenarios for how the forward curve might affect the deal relative to historical performance or providing awareness of what exposure exists or would exist if a particular deal were executed. As the supply portfolio changes, provide guidance and facilitate requisite changes to the retail transfer price and ensure all transactions correspond to the correct retail transfer price. As part of the formal workflow, supply and marketing functions will provide transparency into the current portfolio as well as how that portfolio will evolve. The commercial coordinator will ensure as part of this process to provide insights into how new buy or sell deals will affect overall exposure. Ensure availability of various data in the accounting/business intelligence systems and work with the relevant parties to make corrections. This includes, but is not limited to, supplier fuel costs, retail transfer prices, resolution of no loads, index data used for calculating prices and key performance indicators. Manage the contract life cycle of fuel purchase deals including tracking offers regardless of acceptance, the performance of accepted deals relative to expectation, assessing our own and our counterparties’ compliance with obligations, and providing insight into the marginal costs that would be incurred when adding additional volume to the portfolio. Produce and/or assist business intelligence in creating reports that track our compliance or the counterparty’s compliance with contractual obligations as well as the overall performance of deals. Resolve system related issues that result in ‘no load’ and ‘no price’ data and mismatch issues. Coordinate with supply to record various market costs into the system (structure, ethanol, tariffs) to be used for analysis as well as providing the marketing team with the base costs that will be used during the RFP process for new deals. Assist Legal and Credit teams with contract process flow to deliver agreements on time to Marketing and the Customer Model behaviors that support the company's common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level. Ensure all activities comply with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Complete other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred, or equivalent relevant industry experience required.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in supply or procurement required; 3 years’ experience preferred
  • Strong analytics acumen
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Excel.
  • Experience with Tableau, SQL, and other analytical tools
