About The Position

The Analyst I/Inventory Management is responsible for the review and analysis of Oracle Materials Management Information System (MMIS) generated discrepancy reports, balancing and preparing inventory valuation schedules, and developing custom reports. POSITION DIMENSIONS This position is not responsible for people or budgets. This position interacts with department heads and infrequently with senior management, and on occasion meets with consultants and suppliers. QUALIFICATIONS There are clear precedents and practices that the incumbent uses as guidelines to determine how the job is performed. This position requires one to three years of relevant work experience and a college degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop custom end-user reports and extract on-demand database queries utilizing the Discover Plus tool
  • Alternate for the Inventory Management Administrator regarding the MMI system and communications with Materials Management Staff
  • Respond to system alerts immediately and accurately
  • Perform pre-bid maintenance on all class commodities in accordance with Purchasing bid schedule
  • Evaluate, calculate, and process District Inventory Adjustments
  • Maintain the department Infonet site
  • Maintain eForms that facilitate department business processes
  • Set up, execute, and evaluate the Physical Inventory and Cycle Count processes
  • Analyze problems and enhancements to the Inventory and Order Management modules and provide solution recommendations based on test analysis results
  • Analyze Inventory policies and procedures and make recommendations based on department and Company business process changes and streamlining opportunities
  • Monitor the monthly activity files from the MMIS to the Walker General Ledger assuring that they are accurate and complete
  • Analyze and reconcile the Company asset and adjustment accounts and prepare general journal entries as needed to ensure account accuracy
  • Assist Company personnel with Inventory Management policy and procedures
  • Assist Company personnel with inventory activity, inventory reclassifications and inventory adjustment inquiries
  • Effectively communicate problem, background, and status in a way that helps define and resolve inventory related issues expediently
  • Conduct business process training
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Regular and predictable attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job
