The Analyst I, Engineering (HFC) position at Mediacom Communications involves working as part of the HFC Engineering team to create and maintain accurate system, transport, enterprise, and carrier operations fiber documentation. The role is crucial in supporting the company's mission of bridging the digital divide and delivering high-tech entertainment and communication products to communities.

  • Create and maintain accurate system, transport, enterprise, and carrier operations fiber documentation.
  • Maintain and update engineering records of the network including network maps, optical schematics, and wavelength plans.
  • Provide support to NOC, Technical Operations, and HFC groups to resolve HFC and IP issues.
  • Work closely with HFC Managers, HFC Supervisors, HE Specialists, and Maintenance Technicians to facilitate additions and changes to HFC and IP networks.
  • Perform diagnostics and ongoing maintenance to HFC and IP networks to provide optimum performance.
  • Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's degree preferred.
  • Headend and HFC field experience required.
  • Ability to read and understand fiber documentation required.
  • Ability to quickly learn new software.
  • Ability to troubleshoot IP based and HFC networks.
  • Working knowledge of transport protocols.
  • Working knowledge of layer 2 and layer 3 switching and routing protocols; ie VPN, VLAN, DNS, DHCP.
